🧡 A Mandela Day Miracle: Restoring Hope, One Brick at a Time

“No power on earth can destroy the thirst for human dignity.” – Nelson Mandela

On 18 July 2025, the dusty paths of Ledig’s Lekwadi Section bore witness to something extraordinary. What began as a call for help became a beacon of hope — a house built with love, handed over to Ntate Rankgasie James Pule and his family on Mandela Day. This wasn’t just a donation. It was a reminder that dignity, compassion, and collective action still live strong in our communities.

🏡 Honouring a Legacy: The Story of Ntate Pule
At 94 years old, Ntate Rankgasie James Pule of Ledig, Lekwadi section, stands as a living pillar of resilience and quiet strength. A loving patriarch, he is surrounded by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren—two young women who are raising children of their own, and two young boys still navigating their school years.

Ntate Pule’s story took a significant turn when one of his great-grandchildren, the child of a late former Mankwe GAMETRACKERS employee, was left behind following the parent’s passing. The family, already facing extremely difficult living conditions, struggled to provide even the most basic needs for the children and elders.

Moved by the family’s situation, Jimmy Matlapeng—a distant relative and dedicated employee of Mankwe GAMETRACKERS—took it upon himself to advocate for them. Reaching out on behalf of the Pule family, Jimmy appealed to his employer, hoping for a lifeline for a family in need.

In an extraordinary gesture of compassion and solidarity, Mankwe GAMETRACKERS responded—not as a business, but as a family. The company not only heard the call but rallied together with surrounding hotels and lodges to construct a new home for Ntate Pule and his family.

Recognizing the importance of long-term impact, the team also planted a flourishing vegetable garden, ensuring food security and promoting sustainability. This home is more than a project—it’s a foundation for the family’s future.

🤝A Day of Dignity and Celebration
The day was graced by the presence of MEC Bitsa Lenkopane of the Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT). Her support added significant weight to the occasion, highlighting how powerful public-private partnerships can be in addressing pressing social needs.

In a heartfelt address, Chris Thai, CEO of Mankwe GAMETRACKERS, reminded everyone of the deeper meaning behind the project: “This house represents more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a symbol of hope. It’s a symbol of opportunity. It’s a fresh start for this family. A safe, stable home is the foundation for health, for education, for dignity. Now this family can dream again. Now they can focus on a future filled with possibility.”

The new home stands tall, surrounded by proud smiles, joyful tears, and a flourishing vegetable garden, planted to promote food security and sustainability for the family. From paint to furnishings, every piece of this home carries the fingerprints of those who believed in something greater than themselves.

“As I look at the ladies sitting here in front of me, I can say to them: now you can dream. Now you can focus on your future. This is the beginning of bigger things,” Chris added.

A Call for Ongoing Impact
While this home marks a new beginning, the road ahead remains long. The Pule children deserve every opportunity to thrive—through education, nutrition, and stable support systems.

If you would like to contribute to the long-term sustainability of this household—whether through educational sponsorship’s, monthly grocery assistance, or skills development initiatives—we welcome your partnership. Let us continue to be the village that raises these children. Let us invest not only in where they live, but in who they can become.
